Ham sandwiches & lashings of ginger beer

There’s nothing better than a classic British picnic and at Hut 55, we serve up plenty of sweet and savoury treats for you to bundle up and enjoy on the beach. From freshly made baps, quiches, massive sausage rolls and mountains of cake - our food is all homemade, with a focus on using locally sourced, seasonal produce where possible.

We have plenty on offer for children including kids’ sandwich bags, sweet treats and drinks, including our ‘99 beach hot chocolates which are served with whipped cream, marshmallows and a flake. Low gluten and vegan options are available daily. All food is packaged to take away and enjoy on the beach - we have no indoor seating on offer.

Dogs are welcome on the beach around the Hut, and we love meeting your pups - so feel free to bring them along to enjoy some poochy biscuits.

Coffee & Tea

We take our coffee very seriously. Our beans come from Garage Coffee who locally roast in Hoath, just outside of Canterbury. Their Maypole Blend is finely balanced and creates an espresso with notes of milk and dark chocolate, hazelnuts and figs. Decaf coffee along with oat, almond, coconut and soya milk is available.

Not forgetting you tea drinkers - our herbal blends come from local Debonair Tea and Kent & Sussex Tea Company provide our everyday Pluckly tea which is perfect with a big piece of cake.

Ideal for a special occasion or a day at the beach, our picnics are freshly made by us and include baps, salads, local strawberries and cream and everything you could need for a summer’s feast, right down to the knives and forks. Meaty, veggie or vegan picnics are available, but all must be booked in advance. Our hire bikes can be fitted with a picnic box, so get it touch if you would like to book bikes with your picnic and go on an adventure.
