Welcome to Hut 55
Found nestled on the pebbles at Deal beach, Hut 55 is a takeaway cafe serving delicious homemade food & fresh coffee in a beautiful seaside setting. We love doorstop sandwiches, massive sausage rolls and wedges of cake, all served out of our seaview wooden hut.
Our food is packed in compostable packaging, so you can eat on our deckchairs and outdoor benches, or take away onto the beach.
OPENING HOURS:
We are open Weds-Sunday, 9am-3pm (weather dependent)
Our spot on the beach is beautiful, but it leaves us exposed to the elements - so if it’s heavy rain or wind, please check our social media before visiting as we will always post if we’ve had to close due to adverse weather.
PICNICS:
While the Hut counter is always laden with freshly made treats for you to pick up, why not make the most of a day at the beach with a classic British picnic, available to pre-order. Packed with homemade salads, baps, and local strawberries & cream - it’s the perfect summer feast.
BIKE HIRE:
If you fancy a coastal adventure, we also offer bike and electric bike hire. The Hut is set on the National Route 1 cycle path with Kingdsown, St Margaret’s Bay and Sandwich all easily accessible mainly on the cycle path, or via a few quiet roads. Booking in advance is recommended in school holidays, and our bikes can be fitted with a picnic basket if you would like us to pack you a spot of lunch.

We are located on the beach itself, off Marine Road in Walmer (opposite the paddling pool).
Parking is free (but limited) along Marine Road or paid parking is available in Deal Castle car park. We are a 10 minute walk from Deal town centre and the pier along the seafront.
